Ocho Negro Pocket Watch – Royal Pop Collection

The Ocho Negro Pocket Watch is one of the distinctive designs in the Swatch Royal Pop collection, created through the Audemars Piguet x Swatch collaboration. Reference SSX03W101N combines a bold black color scheme with the geometric design language associated with the Royal Oak, including an octagonal bezel and eight hexagonal screws.

The Ocho Negro Pocket Watch features a black dial with a tapisserie effect, complemented by a contrasting white octagonal Bioceramic bezel. The black Bioceramic case and crown create a refined monochrome appearance, while the vertical satin finish adds further visual definition.

Black Tapisserie Dial

The black dial gives the Ocho Negro Pocket Watch its distinctive character. The hour markers and hands are coated with Grade A Super-LumiNova® with blue emission, helping improve visibility in low-light conditions. The front uses sapphire crystal with enhanced scratch resistance and an anti-reflective coating.

Hand-Wound Mechanical Movement

The watch is powered by a hand-wound version of Swatch’s signature SISTEM51 mechanical movement. Its Lépine-style layout places the crown at 12 o’clock. Through the transparent sapphire caseback, the movement and its Pop Art-inspired decoration are visible, while the mainspring barrel also serves as a visual power-reserve indicator.

Bioceramic Construction

The case and bezel are made from Swatch Bioceramic, giving the Ocho Negro Pocket Watch its lightweight, smooth matte character. The case measures 40 mm in diameter and 8.4 mm thick, with a 2 Bar water-resistance rating.

Versatile Pocket-Watch Design

Royal Pop is designed around a modular concept that allows the timepieces to be styled in different ways. The pocket watches can be worn around the neck, carried in a pocket, clipped to a bag, or adapted for wrist wear, giving the Ocho Negro a distinctive fashion-forward character.
