The Mutaz Essa Barshim connection is particularly important to this model. Richard Mille explains that the concept for the RM 67-02 was developed after the brand met Barshim during the 2016 Rio Olympics. The high-jump champion wanted a watch that was extremely light, flexible, very flat, accurate, and reliable so that it would not distract him during his jumps.

The RM 67-02 is powered by the CRMA7 skeletonised automatic-winding movement, displaying hours and minutes. Its open-work architecture exposes the mechanical components and reinforces the technical appearance of the watch.

The movement measures approximately 28.40 × 31.25 mm and has a thickness of only 4.00 mm. It contains 25 jewels and operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour, or 4 Hz.

Approximately 50-Hour Power Reserve

The Richard Mille RM 67-02 Mutaz Barshim provides an approximately 50-hour power reserve with a ±10% tolerance.

The automatic movement uses a Carbon TPT® and white-gold rotor combined with Richard Mille’s OneWay® winding system and ceramic ball bearings. This arrangement supports efficient winding while retaining the compact architecture required for an extra-flat skeletonised calibre.

Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT® Case

The RM 67-02 case combines Quartz TPT® and Carbon TPT® materials. Richard Mille explains that these composites are manufactured from extremely thin layers of aligned fibres, creating the distinctive layered appearance associated with TPT® cases.

The complete case construction is water-resistant to 30 metres and uses grade 5 titanium spline screws with stainless-steel washers.
